I graduated from University of Oulu, Process engineering, -93, but at that time I already had worked full time for two years. My first job was with machine vision development in a small subsidiary of Rautaruukki, a finnish steel manufacturer. I worked on that until -99 when I moved to Nokia. There I worked in various positions in SW development from a programmer to SW factory manager to Agile coach until 2012. When I left Nokia I founded a mobile apps company with couple of other ex-Nokians, but that proved to be short lived. Now I am doing what I like the most: games.

I am a tastefully seasoned amateur game maker. My first contact to game making was Click'n'Play, which awakened in me an insatiable desire to tinker, create and master. Since then I have dabbled in every avenue of hobbyist game development (game jams are especially fun), but my forte is programming. My first love was BASIC, but I have since branched off to numerous other languages. I have a strained but intense relationship with Javascript. With Unity the only proper choice is C#. Graphics programming is something I have gingerly delved into in the recent years.

A PhD student (M.Sc in December 2011) in Information Processing Science, University of Oulu, Finland, focusing on Game Usability. Developing, designing and researching games has been a life long dream that is now coming true. Been coding and designing since I was six, creating my visions in virtual realities starting from Commodore-64. I've always had hard time controlling my imagination and game design is the perfect way to let it out. I am always aiming for the perfect gaming experience, a non-disturbed flow-state of lucrative enjoyment.

I am currently studying Information Technology in Oulu University of Applied Sciences. I started making games with The Games Factory when I was about 12 years old. A few years later I got a C++ programming book as a Christmas gift and started learning programming as a hobby. After a couple of years of studying C++ I started programming small games with different multimedia libraries such as Simple DirectMedia Layer. In recent years I've been learning other programming languages (C#, Python, Java) as well. My current goal is learning how to use the more advanced features of Unity engine.

3D-animation has always been my thing. I want to create digital life. When I look animations, I try to find the reasons why it looks real or not – this way I try to understand what I am doing right or wrong. I always try to make a perfect performance - it might be impossible but I love challenges. After all, the small things make a big difference.
